Dreams for some are meaningless series of sequences whereas few others really ponder over them to try and find out the hidden meaning in them. But is it really possible that dreams have certain meaning or can we find some directions to our life or solutions for our problems through our dreams. Although, the subject of dream interpretation is a topic of debate, many researchers and believers find it a definite possibility that dreams convey important happenings in ones life. One of the firm believers in dreams, who devoted his life in finding the meaning of dreams, is Sigmund Freud.
Sigmund Freud, is considered the father of psychoanalysis, and he revolutionized the study of dreams with his work "The Interpretation Of Dreams". He began to analyze dreams in an attempt to understand aspects of personality as they relate to pathology. Feud strongly held that nothing we did occurred just like that and in fact our every action and thought is motivated by unconscious to a greater extent. His theory states that we tend to suppress our urges and impulses in order to live in a civilized society. However, these urges and impulses must be freed in some way and have a way of coming to the surface in hidden forms. And one of the ways, these urges and impulses are released is through our dreams. Is works on dream interpretation are matchless and highly appreciated.
