Sleep has major impact on our body cycle and if you are deprived of it, you can face major health problems. In the United States alone, many people are facing sleep related disorders and a large number of them are teenagers. There are many questions asked regarding teenagers and sleep. Why do teenagers have difficulty falling asleep and then difficulty awakening? Why are so many teenagers sleepy during the day activities? The answer to such questions is in the difficulties they face in their sleep patterns. Thus, it is evident that sleep problems are common in teenagers and researchers have learned that powerful biologic forces underlie their sleep functions.
Teenagers require around 9-10 hours of sleep which due to their schedules the only get during the night. That means most of the teenagers do not take daytime naps and the only sleep they get is during the night. Today, studies show that teenagers in the country get around 7 hours of sleep which is far below the required quota of sleep. The reasons for this are innumerable and the responsible factors are mainly the lifestyle of the teenagers. Whatever the reasons are, the teenagers in the country are facing serious sleep related disorders which parents and the teens both need to give a serious thought to.
